Creatures of Light and Darkness
One of my earliest photos taken on 35mm C-41 process Black and White film. The silos are off Hwy 151 in San Antonio, Texas. They are covered in graffiti now. This is all tha remains of their past beauty.
One of my first digital photos. The image was rendered in black/white and then its levels and curves were manipulated to produce a solarization effect. Additional manipulation rendered the river darker to produce a more macabre effect.

San Antonio Riverwalk
A view of the Pioneer Flour mill from the Riverwalk level. Manipulated in post-production
I wanted to create an image reminiscent of Japanese and Chinese brush art. It was a challenge to find a balance between too many lines and too much white.
The Coming Storm
Another of my artistic visions. The steeple is of the Zion Lutheran Church in Helotes, Texas.
A favorite of mine, this is the Korean Pagoda at Denham Estate Park in San Antonio, Texas. One of my first experiments with solarization, this was a perfect piece because of the fine detail work.
A derelict silo of some sort near the Blue Star Arts Complex in San Antonio, Texas. I converted to black/white and inverted the curves to produce a striking image. With the "steps" off to the right, it looks like a Mayan temple.
A vintage truck standing proudly outside John T. Floore Country Store in Helotes, Texas. Most images capture it from the back showing all the signage. I wanted to showcase the truck itself.
An iron bell stands proudly at the Shooting Star Museum in Devine, Texas. The image was reduced to black and white and given a slight tint.
A lionfish floats in an aquarium at the San Antonio Zoo. Another solarized image which gives the fish a transparent appearance.
Taken near the Hyatt Regency San Antonio. This water feature follows water from street level culminating in a waterfall which feeds into the San Antonio River.
Taken on the campus of Northwest Vista College, a tree stands near a park bench by the lake. Winter stripped the leaves and gives the image a barren look.
This tree was rendered to black/white with a high threshold and inverted curve. Named for patterns that lightning causes when it strikes something.
This image was taken during a cloudy day. I rendered it to black/white and tweaked the levels and curves.
